New European Standard EN 14960 Updates Rules for Commercial Inflatables

Oct 2, 2026 — The updated European standard EN 14960 officially takes effect, setting stricter safety requirements for commercial inflatable amusement products sold in the EU market.

The revised standard upgrades requirements for anchoring systems, blower safety, material flame retardancy and maximum load capacity. All commercial bounce houses, inflatable slides and floating water parks must pass third-party testing before entering European markets.

Suppliers without valid certification will face customs detention and product recalls. Industry associations remind manufacturers to upgrade testing documents and production lines. Although compliance increases production cost, certified products enjoy better acceptance among European rental buyers.
